Chelsea’s Choice: Rockin’ Hardware
I love finding “cheats” to creating a new look without a lot of work. And one of those easy ways to revamp your kitchen or bathroom is changing out the drawer pulls, cabinet knobs, etc. to give your cabinets a fresh, new look. New hardware can also help express your personal style, whether it’s classic, trendy, or bold. That’s why this month I’ve partnered with Amerock Hardware to help you transform your space with a giveaway from their new cabinet hardware collections. (Wells Collection in Oil Rubbed Bronze) They’re full of high-quality design details, but at a price you can afford. So basically, it’s a win-win. With 8 new collections,…

Stripping Latex Paint
As documented on my previous post, I had a bit of a rough time with my thrifted Last Supper print. I came to the decision to strip the red paint from the wooden frame to get back to the original wood tone. (Frame Before Paint) I grabbed my materials and headed to the shop.

Hanging in the Dining Room
A few months ago, my husband, mom, dad, baby, and I went to visit my uncle who lives in my dad’s hometown of Marianna, Florida. It was the first time Brandon and Mary Helen got to meet Uncle Mike! So it was a special trip. We also had an opportunity to walk through my grandma’s old house to see if there was anything we’d like to keep before they cleared it out to rent. (She passed away in 2012.) One thing, or 3 things I should say, I took home were some old wooden utensils I remember hanging in her and my granddad’s kitchen most of my childhood. I thought it’d…

Living Space Designer
After completing my herb garden centerpiece, the area to the left of my outdoor seating area was looking a little bare. (Tutorial on my outdoor painted rug can be found here.) The obvious solution, since I love having plenty of plants around this time of year, was to get some planters and plants to fill the void. But instead of just running off to my go-to home improvement store and seeing what they had, I uploaded a photo of my deck and virtually added planters and plants!

How to Repair Wooden Chair Leg
Projects are moving slow in the Wolf household. But it’s for good reason. We were away this past weekend celebrating my youngest sister’s graduation from Auburn University. Mary Helen got into the War Eagle spirit too! Her father may disown her since he’s a diehard fan of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, but she’ll redeem herself with all of the ND gear she’ll be sporting come football season this fall! Go Irish! Before we headed north to the plains of Auburn, Alabama, though, I put the finishing paint touches on my dining room chair repairs! And I’m so glad I did.

Quick Mother’s Day Craft
Apparently this week was Teacher Appreciation Week. And this Sunday is the mother of all holidays, Mother’s Day. So I felt it was a good time, even if it is (very) last minute, to create a little something for my daughter’s caretaker at daycare. I mean she does take care of my little nugget like a second mom. And I’m so grateful that Mary Helen is happy to go to “school” everyday while I take care of business creating projects for this here blog, co-hosting Today’s Homeowner TV show, and taping episodes of my web show. I wanted something that was a tad sentimental and tied into Mary Helen, but not something…

Chelsea’s Choice: Tomato in a Whiskey Barrel
**This giveaway has ended. Scroll down to see the winner and check out my latest giveaway before it ends June 30th, 2016! I love the look of a rustic whiskey barrel planter. Plus they can hold so much, so they’re perfect for a lot of plants or just a single plant that requires a lot of space. The downside is they can be really heavy, even before adding potting soil! Unless, of course, they are from Southern Patio! (1) winner will receive (3) of these beauties in the hand-detailed Kentucky Walnut finish that mimics traditional wood barrels. They’re from Southern Patio’s HDR line of resin-based planters which makes them lightweight…

Mossy May Monogram
I love initials and monograms. And ever since I’ve been married, I’ve been tempted to buy every last ‘W’ I find at HomeGoods, Marshalls, or the like. Fortunately for my husband, I resist more often than not. But I couldn’t resist making an initial with my friend, Elizabeth! When I first asked Elizabeth if she’d be interested in making one, she mentioned that they actually had moss-covered Rs at her wedding. (You can see them in the background in this sweet shot.) And afterwards she used them to decorate her and her husband’s home. Sadly, they lost the letters and most of their possessions in a condo fire a little…

Let There Be Light
Now here’s something I honestly thought would never happen. I got an overhead light fixture installed in my living room! It’s been on my living room to-do list, but I thought I’d never have the monies to hire an electrician for fun. (As opposed to hiring one for a necessity, that is.) Because as most people know, there’s always something more important that pops up for the money to be spent on. But I’ve slowly been saving since January of last year and finally hired the electrician who does a lot of subcontracting with my dad’s construction company here in town. He came out, gave me an estimate, and then…
