Repurposing A Tidy Cats Container

My last post on refinishing a metal laundry cart left off with a tease on the kitty litter container I upcycled into a laundry detergent dispenser. And now I’m here…

DIY Pennant Banner for Kids Room

    January 5, 2023 /

This DIY Pennant Banner is the perfect something extra for a kid bedroom or play space! It’s so easy to paint by hand with minimal materials and skills! We overhauled this bedroom for a grandmother who has 6 grandkids. She needed more beds than just the full bed and futon previously in the room. So Dad and I built 2 sets of bunk beds complete with trundle drawer storage underneath! The transformation was part of an episode for Today’s Homeowner. I designed the room to be fun and cute but not too young since the grandkids span ages 1 to 9. Bright colors mixed with black and white bedding was…

    DIY Lighted Marquee Numbers

    November 9, 2022 /

Create DIY large lighted numbers to celebrate any birthday or anniversary using dollar store foam boards and cafe lights. The fundraiser at my kids’ school was celebrating 20 years. So I volunteered to make these DIY lighted numbers as part of the decor for the event! Sure we could have rented them. But that would have cost around $300. Possibly more. Instead I only spent around $30 since I already had cafe string lights on hand!

How to Make a Pink Tub Look Cool

    October 13, 2022 /

Small updates can make a big difference in making your 1950s pink tub and tile look and feel like it’s supposed to be there! I’m sharing how I updated our bathroom without tearing them out! A few months ago while I was very pregnant with our daughter, Clara, Dad and Brandon helped me update the en suite bathroom in our master bedroom. It was a project I’d been brainstorming for a while and the timing ended up being perfect! The transformation was captured for an episode of Today’s Homeowner if you want to watch it in video form here. Add Wallpaper to Ceiling The first and most obvious thing we…

    DIY Double Batten Accent Wall

    April 26, 2022 /

Enhance a short fireplace or short walls by creating a vertical accent wall treatment that tricks the eye and makes your space feel larger. I love a good accent wall. You can paint ’em, nail ’em or wallpaper ’em. But they always add a special touch to any room! Here’s a simple wood accent wall I created in my son’s room not too long ago.
