DIY Pennant Banner for Kids Room
This DIY Pennant Banner is the perfect something extra for a kid bedroom or play space! It’s so easy to paint by hand with minimal materials and skills! We overhauled this bedroom for a grandmother who has 6 grandkids. She needed more beds than just the full bed and futon previously in the room. So Dad and I built 2 sets of bunk beds complete with trundle drawer storage underneath! The transformation was part of an episode for Today’s Homeowner. I designed the room to be fun and cute but not too young since the grandkids span ages 1 to 9. Bright colors mixed with black and white bedding was…

Pink Girls’ Shared Bedroom Evolution
Our girls’ shared bedroom has come a long way since we first moved in. See how its design and makeover has slowly evolved over the past year. DIY Lighted Marquee Numbers
Create DIY large lighted numbers to celebrate any birthday or anniversary using dollar store foam boards and cafe lights. The fundraiser at my kids’ school was celebrating 20 years. So I volunteered to make these DIY lighted numbers as part of the decor for the event! Sure we could have rented them. But that would have cost around $300. Possibly more. Instead I only spent around $30 since I already had cafe string lights on hand!

How to Make a Pink Tub Look Cool
Small updates can make a big difference in making your 1950s pink tub and tile look and feel like it’s supposed to be there! I’m sharing how I updated our bathroom without tearing them out! The transformation was captured for an episode of Today’s Homeowner if you want to watch it in video form here. Add Wallpaper to Ceiling The first and most obvious thing we…

Stripping Paint from Bricks
It’s hard to stop peeling paint! But you can eliminate paint all together. Here’s how I stripped the peeling paint from our brick steps and then sealed them to prevent slipping.

DIY Double Batten Accent Wall
Enhance a short fireplace or short walls by creating a vertical accent wall treatment that tricks the eye and makes your space feel larger. I love a good accent wall. You can paint ’em, nail ’em or wallpaper ’em. But they always add a special touch to any room! Here’s a simple wood accent wall I created in my son’s room not too long ago. And the wall I wallpapered in our living room. I still love this earthy green accent wall in our old bedroom too!😍 So when we first saw Faith and Roberto’s living room for a Today’s Homeowner project, I knew it needed a good accent!

Wire Shelf Pantry Makeover
Update the basic wire shelf in your pantry by covering it with plywood! Just a few materials and a few hours of your time and the headache you have every time you use your pantry will disappear! One of my sisters, Emily, recently purchased her first house, a sweet little townhouse! When I asked her what projects she needed done, she immediately said she wanted to get rid of the wire shelving in her pantry closet.
