    Bathroom Planning: Toilet

    January 8, 2019 /

Do You Need A Separate Room For Your Toilet? In addition to my shower/tub debate and bathroom vanity options, I never knew I’d need to contemplate whether or not the toilet needed its own room in our new bathroom. Water Closet Commonly referred to as a water closet (or WC), toilet rooms are small nooks with a toilet and a door. Most often seen in a master bathroom, they provide privacy for ‘using the facilities’ while someone else can be accessing the rest of the bathroom. And that’s why I’m currently a fan of the WC!

    Bathroom Planning: Shower

How to Choose Between a Shower and/or Tub Things haven’t changed much on my bathroom addition planning, but I thought I could still continue my bathroom planning series for you! And since it’s about my master bathroom, we’ll start with what I consider the most luxurious of options you’ll consider. Separate Tub and Shower I think most people would agree that this is the ultimate, top-dog option when it comes to a master bathroom. Especially with the currently trendy, freestanding-style tubs.

    Bathroom Planning: Vanity

    December 5, 2018 /

How to Select a Bathroom Vanity This marks the first post I’m sharing about the new master bathroom my husband and I are planning to add to our house in 2019! I first shared the news in my newsletter, so if you don’t already subscribe, click here to sign up now for more behind the scenes fun! We’ll add a door on this wall in our bedroom (eliminating the window) and the addition will be in what is now a dead spot in our yard. Win-win! As we’re in the very beginning stages of planning this addition, a lot of questions have come up. And I thought they might not…

Easy Way to Label Bathroom Drawers

    October 25, 2018 /

How to Add Stylish Labels to Organize Your Vanity A few months ago I made a few small changes to our small bathroom. (You can watch that video here.) One of the things I did was update the drawer pulls to help them match our new towel bar and just to give the bathroom a fresh look. Then ImpressArt* reached out to me and challenged me to incorporate some metal stamping into our bathroom. Challenge accepted! I decided it was the perfect opportunity to help (slowly) teach our toddlers about personal property and that not everything is theirs! AKA, I labeled my drawers, so they know what they shouldn’t touch!…

    Chip Fix Review Update

    October 18, 2018 /

How Our Bathroom Sink Repair is Holding Up I posted a few months ago that I was testing out Homax’s Porcelain Chip Fix on our bathroom sink. We had 3 very small chips that you can’t hardly capture on camera, but they were more obvious in real life. I applied it twice since the first time I didn’t wait very long to use the sink and it was washed away. The second time around, though, we waited 4 days to use it and about 2 weeks to clean it. That’s over and beyond what the directions call for.

Does Homax Porcelain Chip Fix Work?

    August 9, 2018 /

My Review of Homax’s Porcelain Chip Fix in a Sink In short, it didn’t work for me the first time. But I always like to give the benefit of the doubt, so I applied it a second time a few weeks later. (Results are pending for my second trial run. This review reflects the initial application.) Maybe I did it wrong? Or possibly I cleaned it too aggressively after it cured? I don’t know but here’s how it all went down.

    Master Bathroom with Hotel Style

    August 6, 2018 /

How To Add Style to a Bathroom With Paint And Ingenuity You don’t need an entire remodel or a construction company to make your master bathroom feel fresh, new, or like you walked into a high-end hotel. We recently featured this bathroom facelift on an episode of Today’s Homeowner. The homeowners, Ryan and Chloe, lived with a concrete subfloor for over a year after their son flooded and ruined the carpet. They just didn’t know where to start! Replace Flooring While we could have put down tile on the concrete to match the existing nearby tile, they were really looking for something new and different. So we started by removing the…

    Cherry-Picked: Dr. Bronner’s 18-in-1 Castile Soap

    April 16, 2018 /

Helllooooo!!! It’s been a while since I’ve been able to post on here. And I’ll show some projects I’ve been working on during my hiatus in some coming posts. But for now, I’m here to introduce a new series I’ve been wanting to do for some time. It’s called “Cherry-Picked by Chelsea” and I’ll be sharing products, whatchamacallits and maybe even a podcast or two that I’m currently loving. They won’t always be DIY or home related, but it will always be 100% things I actually own, use, and love! Drumroll, please. My first cherry-pick is Dr. Bronner’s Liquid Castile Soap. I’ve been working over the past 9+ months to declutter,…

    Installing Grab Bar Without Studs

    January 19, 2017 /

One thing I’ve learned over the past few months of having a toddling tot around is that a perfectly fine shower/bathtub for an adult is not necessarily perfectly fine for an 11 month old just starting to walk. And then I entered my third trimester with baby #2 and realized maybe my shower isn’t perfectly fine for an adult either! I’ve recently developed a Sunday morning routine that includes a bubble bath, hot coffee, and sometimes some music. It’s part necessity since a bath is the only way I can manage to shave my legs nowadays! The only problem is at the end, when it’s time to face reality again,…
