This how-to video shows you exactly how to build a custom nightstand that looks just like a dollhouse! Sign up for the FREE plans below to make it even easier!
Materials to Make 1 Nightstand
- (2) 3/4″ 2’x4′ sanded plywood panels*
- (4) furniture legs*
- (1) piece of fluted molding*
- (2) pieces of decorative molding*
- iron-on edge banding*
- small hinges*
- pocket hole jig*
- pocket hole screws*
- brad nailer*
- circular saw* or table saw
- miter saw
- jigsaw*
- drill*
- sander*
- primer/paint*
- wood glue*
- paint sprayer*
- (2) small dollhouse windows
- (2) large dollhouse windows
- (1) arched dollhouse window
- (1) dollhouse door
For whatever reason, it’s currently cheaper and easier to purchase (2) 2’x4′ plywood panels than it is to purchase (1) 4’x8′ sheet. And if you’re making 2 nightstands at the same time, like I did, you only have to buy 1 more project panel! Though most other things will need to be doubled.

Step by Step
Once you have the basics of building furniture figured out, it is really easy to duplicate and make anything you can think of! This simple, yet SO cute, nightstand is a simple plywood box, with a door and a shelf!
Cut your plywood to size, drill pocket holes in the appropriate boards, and screw together.
Use a jigsaw to cut the holes for the dollhouse windows and door and a little dab of wood glue to hold them in place.
And of course you know I’m going to use my favorite paint sprayer to apply a smooth, even finish on these sweet nightstands!
Wait for it to dry and reattach the door before moving it into your room and styling!
