Brandon and I overjoyed that we will be welcoming our first child into the world this fall! And the best part? It’s a girl!
And of course that means between now and then, our guest room will become her nursery! That also means, you’ll get to follow along with the process!
Here’s where we’ll be starting:
This room never had much vision, especially with the eclectic hand-me-down furniture. And the chair from my parents’ living room I never got a slipcover for…
I did like the floating shelves above the chair that held my miniature shoe collection, even though they never sat right and I had a heck of a time hanging them on those plaster walls. Maybe they’ll still find their way into Baby Girl Wolf’s room?
We used to have a lamp on the sad nightstand before it found another calling in the living room.
And the most pathetic part of the pre-baby guest room? The curtain that never found its rod.
I never hung the curtain rods because I never found curtains I wanted for this room. And when we had an impromptu house guest, I quickly slipped this one on the trim piece that came with the vinyl blinds to help shield the morning sun. And it just kind of stayed there…
My bad!
But what I’ll miss the most about this room in its current state is the headboard my dad and I built with an old cedar tree from my yard.
We don’t have room for a full bed in our other bedroom/office/craft space, so I’m not sure what we’ll do with it. But we have 4 months to figure it out, I guess!
Until then I’ll be working on cleaning out this room and dreaming up a beautiful, elegant room for our little lady as well as moving outside to the backyard to clean and beautify our deck and surrounding area.
Also, I’m thinking Chelsea, Jr would suit my sure-to-be mini me, no? Well, maybe not!
Thanks for Checking In! ~ Chelsea

Congratulations to all of you. My dad was blessed with four daughter’s. Of course I’m sure he wished for some male companion ship since the farm was overrun by females:)

That’s awesomely joyous news! Allow me to add my congratulations. Of course, the mother hen in me can’t resist warning you to be wary of various fumes now 😉 Also, I think Chelsea Danielle should go into the name hat…we locals get personally invested in our favorite DIY home and landscape mentors.
