Summer is upon us and hopefully that means you have a few fun trips planned away from the house!
Summer also means high heat and plants that require frequent watering, especially if they’re in a container. But you don’t have to worry about your plants withering away while you soak up the rays on the lake or sea shore with my latest giveaway!
You can add this insert from Southern Patio to almost any planter (up to 18 inches) and turn it into a self-watering planter.
When you’re potting a plant in a planter or container, first add the self-watering insert to the bottom. Then plant your flowers as usual. (Check out my post on how I used this self-watering insert by clicking here.)
The way the insert works is you fill the reservoir with water when you’re home, and the rope wicks water from the reservoir into the soil for the roots to soak up while you’re away!
But that’s not all I’m giving away this week! (3) winners will also receive one of these 16″ Cabana resin planters!
Maybe you don’t have a green thumb yet, but I think you’ll be on your way to one with a self-watering insert and a pretty new planter! Use the widget below to enter for your chance to win!
**Thanks to Southern Patio for sponsoring this giveaway!

Very cool watering tool — and a classic style planter, too!

What a great idea! We have a timer for our garden, but nothing for our potted plants.

It’s interesting how the amount of water and sun can affect a plant. We planted a number of lilies in a long container and the ones in the dryer/shadier areas are doing half as nice as the ones on the opposite end.

Yes it’s crazy to see nature in action like that! ~Chelsea
