1950s Kitchen Renovation Ideas
We’re getting ready for a kitchen renovation, so I’m sharing a before tour of what our 1950s kitchen looks like now. DIY Double Batten Accent Wall
Enhance a short fireplace or short walls by creating a vertical accent wall treatment that tricks the eye and makes your space feel larger. I love a good accent wall. You can paint ’em, nail ’em or wallpaper ’em. But they always add a special touch to any room! Here’s a simple wood accent wall I created in my son’s room not too long ago. And the wall I wallpapered in our living room. I still love this earthy green accent wall in our old bedroom too!😍 So when we first saw Faith and Roberto’s living room for a Today’s Homeowner project, I knew it needed a good accent!

Modern Updates to a 1950s Living Room How we took our blah, blah, bland family room and transformed it over a few days into a bright, modern and functional place to hang out with friends, watch TV or play games as a family! Before It’s funny that in less than a year of living here, the function and the way we used this room changed. Not by leaps and bounds, mind you, but enough that we now desperately need toy storage in here instead of the playroom. So I’m glad we waited to live here a bit before making any changes to one of the most-used rooms in our home.

Updating Our 1950s Bathroom with Style
Light, Bright and Fun Bathroom Updates All of the sources we used to renovate our hall bathroom to make it lighter, brighter, and a lot more fun for our kids and guests! You can’t have a post about a bathroom remodel without including what it looked like before! This is how it looked when we closed on the house. Then we stripped the wallpaper, changed out the sconces and mirror and switched out the curtains for frosted windows. And she looked a lot more like this.
