DIY Wooden Initial Herb Garden
How to Make Large Letter for Outdoor Decor I love a big, bold initial to fill a space. But this time, I’m creating one to hang on the outside of my house! Materials (2) 1x4x8′ pressure-treated boards Titebond III Wood Glue** clamps* and/or bungee cords* circular saw jigsaw D-ring hangers* 4 inch planters pot hangers* herbs Measure It Out Before you can cut your boards, you’ll need to roughly sketch how your particular letter will be cut out. With my ‘W’ for example, the two sides need to be taller than the middle. So I knew I could cut the middle boards shorter but keep the overall scale of the…

Geaux Saints DIY Wreath
Growing up in southern Alabama, fall was always about college football. So I never grew up with a pro football team affiliation. And even now that I’m married to an Indiana boy, he’s more about his Fighting Irish than following the Indianapolis Colts. Though I know he still watches some and keeps up with them. DIY Coral Decor
So many school districts are already back in session around the country and I simply can’t believe “summer” is over! It’s especially fun if you had a tropical vacation this summer! Personally, I love the look of coral for bookshelf filler or coffee table conversation fodder. It all started when I saw a piece of pink decorative coral in a vacation home a few years ago. I…

A Very Merry Christmas Tray
Now that Thanksgiving has passed, I can wish you all a very, merry and magical Christmas! Part of the magic of Christmas is a child’s belief in Santa Claus. I know I was very reluctant to believe otherwise! So this month’s project is creating a tray to hold ole St. Nick’s cookies and milk on Christmas Eve. It all started with a $3 frame from a local thrift store. To make the frame look more like a tray, we picked up some decorative cabinet pulls from the hardware store. Before we got started on the real transformation with paint, we drilled the holes for our pulls, centering them on each…

Flower Pot Mayhem
Super glue and modeling clay help me restore a sentimental flower pot to its former glory after a near-death experience.
