Chip Fix Review Update
How Our Bathroom Sink Repair is Holding Up I posted a few months ago that I was testing out Homax’s Porcelain Chip Fix on our bathroom sink. We had 3 very small chips that you can’t hardly capture on camera, but they were more obvious in real life. I applied it twice since the first time I didn’t wait very long to use the sink and it was washed away. The second time around, though, we waited 4 days to use it and about 2 weeks to clean it. That’s over and beyond what the directions call for.

DIY Gates for Deck Stairs
How to Build Gates for a Wood Deck If you have little ones roaming around, you know the feeling when you see them head towards the stairs! (Results are pending for my second trial run. This review reflects the initial application.) Maybe I did it wrong? Or possibly I cleaned it too aggressively after it cured? I don’t know but here’s how it all went down.

Ditching the Fluorescent
Something that’s been hanging over my head (quite literally) the last few weeks while working at the laundry room project turned out so much better than I expected! I was nervous to ditch the old fluorescent light fixture since the one advantage to having a fluorescent is how much light they give off. But my worry was unfounded since the fixture the homeowner, Stephanie, and I picked out had 4 bulb sockets, up to 100 watts each! Oh and did I mention it’s a real looker too?!

Going Dutch, Door Style
As a kid I was always fascinated with Dutch doors. It’s so neat to have a door that can function as a regular door or split to keep the bottom locked while the top let’s in fresh air. I’ve seen them as exterior doors and as interior doors in my old daycare. They seem just perfect for anyone with pets or kids. What I also love about them is how cute they can be. Especially on a backyard shed! We built this one from scratch since the existing door was in rough shape. If your door is in better shape you can use it instead! The materials we used: (1)…
